SEO Report Guide
1. What is the SEO Report?
The SEO Report is your quick health check for website optimisation. In minutes, you’ll see:
- An overall SEO score out of 100
- A breakdown of what’s working well and what needs attention
- Tailored recommendations to improve rankings, speed, and user experience
Whether you’re new to SEO or experienced, the report is jargon-free and designed to help you focus on the areas that matter most.
Monthly SEO Reports are free. For more frequent analysis, upgrade to Silver or Gold.
2. Why Use It?
With so many factors affecting SEO, it’s easy to waste time on the wrong things. The SEO Performance Report helps you:
- Check performance at a glance – See how optimised your website is.
- Identify improvements – Get actionable “what, why, how” guidance.
- Benchmark against competitors – Compare rankings, backlinks, and keyword gaps.
- Save time – Full site analysis in minutes, no specialist knowledge required.
3. How the Report Works
Your website is scored out of 100, with results broken down into four key areas:
🔹 Keyword Analysis
- See where your website ranks for selected keywords.
- Discover other terms your site already appears for.
- Get a list of your top 10 keywords.
🔹 Onsite SEO
- Technical recommendations to optimise elements like title tags, meta descriptions, and redirects.
- Step-by-step actions to improve relevance and crawlability.
🔹 Page Speed
- Analyse your load times across devices.
- Identify slow elements that may frustrate users or lower rankings.
- Get practical fixes for speed optimisation.
🔹 Backlinks
- Review the number and quality of sites linking to you.
- See your top 10 backlinks.
- Understand your referring domains and link profile.
- Identify opportunities to build stronger “votes of trust” from other sites.
Each section includes its own score out of 100 with tailored advice and best-practice tips.
4. Competitor Comparison
SEO doesn’t happen in isolation - your competitors are fighting for the same keywords, traffic, and customers. The Competitor Comparison feature helps you understand exactly where you stand.
When you add a competitor’s website URL while creating your SEO Profile, your report will include SEO Gap Analysis, showing:
- Keyword Overlap & Gaps – See which keywords your competitors rank for but you don’t, so you can create new content or optimise existing pages.
- Backlink Strength – Compare the quality and quantity of backlinks pointing to your competitor’s site, helping you identify potential outreach opportunities.
- Performance Benchmarks – Understand whether you’re ahead or behind on core SEO factors like site speed, domain authority, and keyword coverage.
- Progress Tracking – Run reports regularly to measure whether you’re closing the gap, holding your ground, or slipping behind.
Example: If your competitor is ranking for “best catering equipment supplier” and you aren’t, the report highlights it - giving you a clear, actionable opportunity to win that traffic.
5. Adding an SEO Profile
To generate an SEO Performance Report, you’ll first need to create an SEO Profile. This tells Adzooma which website (and competitor, if any) to analyse. Profiles make it easy to keep track of multiple websites or clients, and you can create as many as you need.
Creating a Profile
- From Home, Projects, or Profiles, click Add New > Add an SEO Profile.
- Enter the following details:
- Profile Name – e.g. “MyBusiness.com” (helps you find it easily).
- Website URL – include http:// or https:// (top-level domain only).
- Geographical Location (optional) – specify the main region you want analysis for (e.g. UK, US).
- Competitor Website URL (optional but recommended) – add one competitor’s domain to unlock Gap Analysis.
- Click Add Profile.
- You’ll then have the option to assign the Profile to a new or existing Project (a folder grouping multiple Profiles). This step is optional - you can always move it later.
📌 Notes:
- Each website URL can only be used once in an Adzooma account.
- Adding a competitor is optional, but without it, you’ll miss out on keyword and backlink gap insights.
- You can create unlimited SEO Profiles - perfect if you want to track multiple websites or clients.
Example: If you manage 3 client websites, you can add each one as a separate SEO Profile. For each, you can also add their top competitor to track performance side by side.
6. Running and Viewing Reports
Once your SEO Profile is set up, you’re ready to run your report. The dashboard gives you a complete picture of your SEO performance in minutes, with clear scores and detailed breakdowns you can use to prioritise improvements.
- Select your SEO Profile from the Profiles Dashboard (or a Project it belongs to).
- On the Profile Dashboard, you’ll see:
- Current SEO score out of 100
- Breakdown across the 4 sections (keywords, onsite SEO, speed, backlinks)
- Insights on how your score has changed since the last report
Reports can be downloaded as branded PDFs by clicking Download (top right).
7. Updating an SEO Profile
Over time, you may need to update your Profile details - for example, if your website domain changes, you want to benchmark against a new competitor, or you’re rebranding. Adzooma makes this easy, so your reports always reflect the most accurate data.
- Select the SEO Profile you want to edit.
- Click Settings.
- Update any of the following fields:
- Profile Name
- Website URL
- Competitor URL
- Click Update SEO Profile to save.
📌 Changes will be reflected in your next scheduled report.
You can also delete an SEO Profile here by selecting Delete Profile.
8. Custom Branding
On Silver & Gold subscriptions, you can add your own logo and brand colours to SEO Reports, making them polished and client-ready.
Custom branding is applied when you download reports as PDFs. Inside Adzooma, reports use the standard interface, but your exported reports will reflect your chosen branding.
- Profile-Level Branding – Apply one logo and colour scheme across all reports for a specific ad account. Perfect for in-house marketers or businesses managing their own website.
- Project-Level Branding – Overrides Profile settings for individual Projects, allowing agencies and freelancers to customise branding per client. Each Project can have its own logo and colour scheme.
This flexibility means you can use one consistent brand identity for all your own reports, or tailor them to each client when managing multiple accounts.
